Egypt’s Role in the Sudanese Scene
Egypt is making every effort to keep the military in the political scene after the war, not out of concern for Sudan’s stability, but out of fear for its own economic interests tied to military rule.
Cairo views any genuine democratic transition in Sudan as a threat to its own regime, as it could inspire similar demands for change among the Egyptian people.
Therefore, Egypt quietly supports the continued dominance of the military and opposes any civilian democratic transition that might undermine its regional influence

تحاول مصر جاهدة أن تُبقي العسكر في واجهة المشهد السياسي بعد الحرب، ليس حبًا في استقرار السودان، بل خوفًا على مصالحها الاقتصادية المرتبطة بالنظام العسكري.
ترى القاهرة أن أي تحول ديمقراطي حقيقي في السودان سيشكل خطرًا على نظامها السياسي، لأنه سيُلهم شعبها للمطالبة بنفس التغيير.
لذلك تعمل مصر بصمت على دعم بقاء العسكر في الحكم، وتُعارض أي انتقال مدني ديمقراطي يهدد نفوذها الإقليمي.
