Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS)
Statement on the complaint filed by the Port Sudan coup authority against the United Arab Emirates
The Sudanese peoples were surprised, as were the revolutionary forces, by the complaint filed by the coup authority in Port Sudan against the United Arab Emirates, which stood with our peoples and supported them in their humanitarian plight resulting from the April 15 war, before the International Court of Justice, in a futile political move that only reflects the wandering of this authority and its loss of moral and political compass and the behavior of the Islamic movement terrorist group that ignited the war in order to return to power on the blood, tears, and ruins of the Sudanese people.
Accordingly, the Sudan Constituent Alliance would like to clarify to the national, regional and international public opinion the following:
1. The Port Sudan coup authority lacks any legal or political legitimacy to file complaints or represent the Republic of Sudan in international forums. It is a usurped de facto authority that does not have a mandate from the peoples of Sudan.
2. This authority does not represent the will of the Sudanese peoples, but rather represents the project of the collapsed Islamist movement and an extension of political Islam and terrorist groups in the region, and what it does has nothing to do with Sudan’s history, values, or aspirations.
3. This authority has a track record of prevarication and duplicity, as it has repeatedly refused to extradite symbols of the criminals of the terrorist Islamic movement and the former regime who are wanted by the International Criminal Court, headed by ousted Omar al-Bashir, Abdel Rahim Mohamed Hussein, and Ahmed Mohamed Haroun. Therefore, it is not morally or legally qualified to claim litigation or speak in the name of international justice.
4. The Islamist Port Sudan authority has been involved in committing serious violations and crimes against civilians during the ongoing war, which have been documented by international and regional human rights organizations and referred to by the UN Security Council in its recent reports. This complaint is a political smokescreen to cover up these crimes.
5. The complaint against the UAE is nothing but a cheap political tool used by the Islamic terrorist movement and the forces of political Islam in the region to confuse the positive and balanced role that the UAE has been playing in supporting peace and stability in Sudan and the region.
The Sudan Constituent Coalition condemns in the strongest terms this desperate move, and emphasizes that what was done by the Port Sudan coup authority does not represent the Sudanese peoples, nor does it reflect their long-standing history, nor their deep-rooted fraternal relations with the UAE people and government.
Therefore, on behalf of the Sudanese peoples, the Sudanese Constituent Alliance offers a sincere apology, full of appreciation and respect, to the government and people of the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing the strength of the historical relations between them, and reiterating its commitment to the values of peace, fair regional partnership, and responsible international relations.
Tyrants are gone, but people are here to stay
