Urgent Statement from the Democratic Unionist Party – Original (Local Branch)

Subject: A Call to Stop the War and End Civilian Suffering
The Democratic Unionist Party – Original (Local Branch) is following with deep concern the devastating war unfolding across our homeland, particularly in Kordofan and El Fasher, where innocent civilians—children, women, and the elderly—are being killed daily, either by bullets or through starvation and siege.
Through this statement, we issue a national and humanitarian appeal to all parties involved in the conflict to immediately stop this senseless war, which serves only narrow agendas and is dragging the country into further destruction and fragmentation.
What makes this tragedy even more painful is that it is being waged under false religious slogans, with the goal of returning remnants of the former regime to power through bloodshed and chaos.
We ask: What kind of Islam justifies the killing of the innocent?
Where is Islam when a child watches their mother die, or a mother buries her sons?
Using religion as a political cover is unacceptable and a betrayal of the true essence of faith.
We, in the Democratic Unionist Party – Original (Local Branch), hold all actors in this war accountable—whether they fight or justify it—and we reaffirm that a peaceful political solution remains the only path forward to save Sudan.
We also call upon the international community—especially the United States of America and the United Kingdom—to act immediately and decisively to stop this war, exert diplomatic pressure, and protect innocent civilians from further harm.
We say it clearly: Enough bloodshed. Enough silence. Enough destruction. Stop the war now.
