Statement on the start of primary and intermediate exams in South and East Darfur states
Wednesday May 28 ,2025 witnessed the start of the primary and intermediate exams in 13 localities in South Darfur state, with the participation of approximately 8,000 students, in a scene that reflects the resilience of communities facing war and destruction. Only eight localities were absent from the exams, while all nine localities in East Darfur State began conducting the same exams during the past period. Exams were launched by a committee comprising representatives from the civil administration, the RSF advisor on education and women’s affairs, as well as directors of public Departments and security sectors.
Despite the harsh exceptional circumstances imposed by the Port Sudan military Jihadists authorities with their racist policies, depriving thousands of students in the states of Kordofan and Darfur, and even the absence of many other students from the remaining states of Sudan, as explained in the Teachers’ Committee’s statements regarding the educational process, and despite the military racist jihadists regime’s attempts to ignite its criminal war to abort the dreams of Sudanese people for a new, free, and equal Sudan, our people have proven once again that the will of life and hope are stronger than bullets and aerial bombardment.
The kickoff of these exams, despite the exclusionary policies pursued by the Port Sudan gang in depriving these students and others of their basic right such as education, confirms that Sudanese people are committed to their right to build the future and are capable of organizing and managing their public life. Here, the Founding Alliance highly values the tremendous efforts made by education administrations, teachers, and civil administration’s that work in extremely complex and exceptional circumstances serving Sudanese communities and peoples to support education as a central tool in the battle for change and the path to the future.
The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) affirms that these moments are a real victory over the project of tyranny and racism and affirms that education will remain a top priority for the upcoming civil founding government, in order to change the priorities that were there in the former dictatorship regime and forever.
The revolution will continue until the system of oppression and apartheid is defeated and a Sudan of freedom, peace, and justice is built.
