Statement
TASIS Alliance announces the suspension of its media cooperation with Al Jazeera Media Network
The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) announces the suspension of all forms of cooperation and media activities with Al Jazeera Media Network, Channels, social media pages and platforms, as a result of its clear bias and non neutrality in Sudan war’s media coverage in favor of the Islamic movement it’s army, and militias, and the accompanying breach of the standards of professionalism and objectivity that the network is supposed to adhere to in its coverage of Sudanese affairs.
Over the past period, the alliance has observed the network’s editorial policy aligning with an agenda biased towards the Islamic movement and its militias, particularly in its program “Sudan Window,” becoming a platform for promoting inaccurate and misleading news and information targeting the founding alliance and its forces. The network and channel daily reports, which have generally lacked credibility and objectivity, have contributed to distorting the facts and misleading public opinion.
The network’s bias was evident even in the program “Diwan al-Sudan,” which is supposed to be a TV social program to host Sudanese who call for an end to the war and who recount the facts and the true narrative of Sudanese people suffering due to this Muslim brotherhood NCP war but unfortunately it continued to host those biased towards the Islamist army and their brigades, and even hosted some of their executive leaders in their so-called government on a social program and broadcast false reports to mislead Sudanese and regional public opinion about the situation in Sudan.
The alliance affirms that the bias of Al Jazeera channel’s presenters, the way they ask questions, and the failure to allow fair airtime to present the alliance’s point of view reflect an unfair editorial approach aimed at weakening the alliance’s arguments and obfuscating the facts.
Unfortunately, this bias was evident even in the massacres committed by the NCP army and its militias against innocent civilians who did not carry weapons or wage war, as if Sudanese people were not equal throughout Sudan.
Based on the above, the alliance has decided to suspend its media cooperation and media activities with Al Jazeera Media Network until it reviews its editorial approach and ensures its commitment to professional standards and complete neutrality , and that it stands at an equal distance from all parties without discrimination or bias.
