I thought the value of businessmen cosplaying diplomats and nepo-appointees was that they would say what needed to be said, but this spineless statement doesn’t even mention the perpetrator of this war crime. Why? Either he is captured by the careerists at State too afraid to take a side or else he’s deluded himself into thinking that pointless sanctions, vacuous statements with ungrounded timelines are enough to get either side to engage him or each other in cease-fire talks. People are dying and this just isn’t serious.
