Statement on the Quartet Meeting of September 12, 2025, Regarding Peace in Sudan
The Council of Ministers of the Peace Government welcomes the statement of the Foreign Ministers of the Quartet Mechanism regarding peace in Sudan, and we would like to emphasize the following:
1. We strongly affirm our firm position and fully welcome the efforts made to end the war in Sudan through a comprehensive peace process leading to an end to the war and the establishment of the state and its institutions, by addressing the roots of the historical problem that led to wars in Sudan.
2. We highly value the statement regarding facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid, and we affirm our full readiness to cooperate and provide our endless collaboration with all United Nations and other humanitarian organizations to deliver aid to our people. In preparation for this, the council of ministers have taken a comprehensive decision affirming our principled position on the humanitarian crisis and the need to find the necessary solutions to it.
3. We welcome the statement regarding the role of Islamists and terrorist groups and militia, including the National Congress Party, the Al-Bara bin Malik Jihadists battalions. We affirm that there will be no peace in Sudan or stability in the region without isolating this extremist terrorist organization that initially ignited the war and transformed Sudan into an arena for terrorist activities in the region.
4. In announcing this position, the Government of Peace renews its commitment to work with regional and international partners to achieve comprehensive and sustainable peace in Sudan and realize the aspirations of the Sudanese people for freedom, justice, and development.
