Today, I met with Mr Heiko Nitzschke, the German Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa.
I briefed him on militia violations in Sudan, particularly in Darfur, including the recent bombing of a mosque in Khartoum and the ongoing siege of El Fasher, in clear defiance of a UN Security Council resolution.
I stressed that victories in the capital will continue and that halting the supply of weapons to the militias is the only way to end the war.
Drawing on Germany’s exceptional experience in post-war reconstruction after World War II, we discussed its potential role in rebuilding Sudan, particularly in infrastructure development.
