Appeal on the Mechanism for Monitoring the Truce in Sudan
To the Governments of the United States of America and the United Kingdom,
In light of the recent joint statement issued by the Quad, and the renewed calls to end the war in Sudan and to open safe humanitarian corridors, we hereby submit this urgent appeal:
We call for the establishment of an effective mechanism to monitor and implement the truce and ceasefire, ensuring full compliance by all Sudanese parties. We propose that this be achieved through the deployment of international monitoring forces under the direct supervision of the United States of America and the United Kingdom, provided that such forces are neutral and not affiliated with any neighboring states that may have interests or connections with the warring parties.
The presence of this independent international mechanism would strengthen confidence in the truce process, help protect civilians, and pave the way toward a permanent ceasefire, as well as the launch of a peaceful transitional process leading to a civilian government with broad legitimacy—one that fulfills the aspirations of the Sudanese people for peace, stability, and democracy.
By appealing to the United States of America and the United Kingdom to play this decisive role, we affirm that Sudan is in urgent need of strong and impartial international guarantees to stop the bloodshed and to safeguard the unity of the country and the safety of its people.
God is the ultimate guide to success.
