Press Statement
Welcoming the UN Expert Mr. Rahdouane Nouicer’s Intent to Engage with Authorities in Areas Under Our Forces’ Control.
We followed the Meeting of the designated Expert on Sudan of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Radhouane Nouicer with a group of Sudanese journalists, and his expressed intention to communicate with officials in areas controlled by the TASIS Forces to discuss the human rights situation there.
We at TASIS Alliance appreciate and welcome Mr. Nouicer desire. We announce that we in the alliance are fully open to communicating with Mr. Radhouane Nouicer throught all structures of the peace government. We welcome any visit he may make to peace government areas to assess the human rights situation and announce that we will facilitate and overcome any difficulties and obstacles that can face his anticipated visit.
The Transitional Constitution of Sudan for 2025 stipulates respect for human rights and international conventions in its supra-constitutional principles, and this obliges us to engage in this cooperation, which we look forward for it.
TASIS affirms its position in support of the work of the Human Rights Council’s fact-finding mission and renews its commitment to cooperate with it to accomplish its mission.
We will contact Mr. Nouicer to agree on the timing of the visit at the earliest opportunity.
