IT IS #TIME TO #Stop_Segregation in #SUDAN
Since the war, thousands of kilowatts of solar panels have entered the country. People are building their own micro-grids, just as they’ve always built their own septic tanks, neighborhood roads, and water systems when the state couldn’t provide.
But here’s the contradiction: outsiders see Sudan as poor. Yet step inside many Sudanese homes, and you’ll find a completely different reality. Public spaces may reflect poverty, but private spaces often show resilience, strength, and even prosperity. Sudan has been developing individually, not collectively.
If energy access follows this same path, electricity will become segregated:
⚡ Some able to afford full operation.
⚡ Others struggling with only the basics.
⚡ A life necessity treated as a luxury.
And yet — Sudan has the second-highest solar potential in the world, enough to power all of Africa. The challenge is not the resource. It’s how we #plan, #govern, and #ensure fair access.
🔑 We need a unified solar strategy — one that guarantees power as a right, not a privilege.
It’s time to leverage this wealth, and #buildtogether, not apart.
