Crimes of Child Recruitment and Violations Against Civilians in Sudan
We express our deep concern over the ongoing crimes of child recruitment committed by the Al-Baraa Brigades and Islamist militias, where children are forcibly pushed into combat zones. This constitutes a grave and blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Such practices amount to war crimes that require accountability, and no military leadership that allows or colludes in them should be tolerated.
We also strongly condemn the horrific crimes committed by the Islamist organization and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which include the killing and slaughter of civilians—children, women, the elderly, and youth. These actions are unjustifiable and represent a flagrant violation of human rights and international justice conventions.
Reaffirming that perpetrators must not escape punishment, we demand:
1. International human rights organizations, particularly those concerned with children’s rights, to monitor and document these violations in accordance with international standards.
2. The United Nations and relevant international mechanisms to act immediately by launching independent investigations and ensuring accountability for those responsible.
3. The United States, the United Kingdom, and the broader international community to take urgent steps to stop these violations and protect children and civilians from the horrors of a senseless war ignited by the Islamist terrorist organization for power and wealth.
The silence of the international community in the face of these crimes constitutes a grave failure and encourages their repetition. We stress that the protection of civilians, especially children, remains a non-negotiable priority.
بيان حقوقي حول جرائم تجنيد الأطفال والانتهاكات ضد المدنيين في السودان
نعرب عن بالغ القلق إزاء استمرار جرائم تجنيد الأطفال التي ترتكبها كتائب “البراء” والمليشيات الإسلامية، حيث يتم الزج بالأطفال قسرًا في جبهات القتال، في انتهاك جسيم وصريح للقانون الدولي الإنساني واتفاقية حقوق الطفل. إنّ هذه الممارسات تعدّ جريمة حرب تستوجب المساءلة، ولا يجوز التسامح مع القيادات العسكرية التي تسمح أو تتواطأ في ارتكابها.
كما ندين بشدة الجرائم المروعة التي ارتكبها التنظيم الإسلامي ومليشيات “الدعم السريع”، والمتمثلة في القتل والذبح بحق المدنيين من أطفال ونساء وكبار السن وشباب، وهي أفعال لا مبرر لها وتشكل انتهاكًا صارخًا لحقوق الإنسان ومواثيق العدالة الدولية.
وإذ نؤكد على ضرورة عدم إفلات الجناة من العقاب، فإننا نطالب:
المنظمات الحقوقية الدولية، وبالأخص تلك المعنية بحقوق الطفل، برصد هذه الانتهاكات وتوثيقها وفق المعايير الدولية.
الأمم المتحدة والآليات الدولية المختصة بالتحرك الفوري لفتح تحقيقات مستقلة وضمان محاسبة المسؤولين.
الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية والمملكة المتحدة، ومعهما المجتمع الدولي، باتخاذ خطوات عاجلة لوقف هذه الانتهاكات وحماية الأطفال والمدنيين من أهوال حرب عبثية أشعلها التنظيم الإسلامي الإرهابي لأهداف مرتبطة بالسلطة والمال.
إنّ صمت المجتمع الدولي إزاء هذه الجرائم يمثل تقاعسًا خطيرًا ويشجع على تكرارها. ونؤكد أن حماية المدنيين، وخاصة الأطفال، تظل أولوية لا تقبل المساومة
